Pregis will set up a $ 1 million lab in Michigan to support research and development and quality testing of blown film fabs.
The new Pregis factory in Grand Rapids produces polyethylene film with a range of test equipment in a dedicated space. The company also expanded warehouse space to make room for the lab and the existing office space.
Pregis polyethylene film can be applied to a variety of flexible packaging market, including food, medical, industrial and surface protection.
The laboratory includes equipment for analysis and physical testing.
Tom Wetsch, chief innovation officer at Pregis, said: "Customers are constantly placing ever-stricter quality demands on their suppliers and our new lab capabilities will help them achieve these goals."
He explained that we made this investment because our customers want to quickly increase the use of custom packaging. We want to make sure we have the right resources for them. "
