Polymax Adds Extrusion Lines To Increase TPE Capacity
Polymax Thermoplastic Elastomers has added a twin-screw extrusion line at Waukegan to increase its production capacity.
Executives said the new line will add nearly 8 million pounds of annual capacity to Polymax in Waukegan.
Executives also say the new line will also add Polymax's 10 new jobs to the 42,000-square-foot facility. The plant has 25 employees and operates a twin-screw line and a materials lab.
Polymax, part of Polymax Elastomer Technology, Nantong, China, is a manufacturer and manufacturer of custom-made thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). This new line will enable Polymax to expand its line of thermoplastic elastomer products, including styrenic block copolymers and various alloys.
Executives said the expansion is underway and will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2018. They added that since its operations in the United States in 2013, Polymax has seen strong growth in its TPE materials, which serve a variety of markets, including automotive and industrial.
