Berlin Packaging and Bruni Glass have announced a strategic acquisition of H. Erben, a supplier of closures, packaging and packaging equipment in Hadley, England.
Berlin Packaging is a global supplier of hard packaging products and services worth US$2.6 billion. It has been operating in North America since 1898 and has a European headquarters in Milan, Italy. The company acquired Bruni Glass in 2016.
After the completion of the Erben acquisition, the combined company has offices throughout Europe, including Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, as well as South Africa, China and North America.
Erben has more than 60 years of experience providing packaging and mechanical equipment for the wine, beer and spirits markets. Under Sasha Erben's leadership, the company has experienced tremendous growth over the past 10 years. Today, their customers can enter the broader European market, as well as a variety of containers and closures.
Clients in Berlin and Bruni benefit from the extended geographical coverage and an English quality laboratory.
Andrew Berlin, chairman and chief executive officer of Berlin Packaging, said: "The acquisition of Erben shows that we are committed to the best business in the packaging industry."
Roberto Del Bon, CEO of Bruni Glass explained: "This acquisition also transforms a long-term business relationship into a more family-friendly relationship. Bruni Glass has been Erben's glass packaging supplier for many years."
