Specialty chemicals company LANXESS will increase its Macrolex dye production capacity at the Leverkusen plant. With an investment of more than 5 million euros, capacity will increase by 25% and will start operation by the end of 2018.
Philipp Junge, head of LANXESS Rheinland's chemical business unit, said: "We want to meet the world's growing demand for high-quality dyes through expansion, especially in Asia, where demand has soared."
Dominik Risse, Lanxess Colorant Additives Business Unit, added: "Product requirements are also stricter, and stringent requirements are increasingly important, especially in sensitive applications, especially LANXESS 'pure product as a market leader."
Risse added that the investment is also an official certification of the Leverkusen plant. This expansion represents a major investment by LANXESS in the paste business, which will also create additional jobs for Leverkusen.
