Gneuss is nearing completion of its expansion at the Matthews facility in North Carolina.
The German filter, extruder and measuring equipment manufacturer will be showcasing several products at the NPE2018's W6473 stand, including a complete processing unit including an MRS extruder, a fully automatic melt filtration system and an in-line viscometer. The company said that the unit can handle 2000 pounds of PET per hour.
The expansion project began last summer and is expected to be officially completed in May.
The Gneuss sheet extrusion line includes an MRS extruder, a rotary filter system, an in-line viscometer and a PET foam module.
Monika Gneuss, vice president and sales and marketing manager, said: "...it is mainly to provide more storage space for spare parts, and we now have a larger laboratory."
The expansion project also includes new office equipment and a larger conference room. Gneuss is recruiting an additional service technician. The company currently employs 11 employees at the Matthews facility.
The site mainly serves customers in the United States, but there are also stable businesses from Canada and Mexico.
Gneuss said that especially in North America, machine sales have been very good. She said: "We will usher in an excellent start. We got two very big orders in January and February.
