British Supermarket Giant Promises To Phase Out Plastic Straws
The British retail giants TESCO and Morrison have announced that they plan to remove all disposable straws as early as June 2018.
The Change website stated in two other reports that the decisions made by the two supermarkets and retail giants after the election campaign attracted more than 170,000 Morrison and 270,000 Tesco supporters.
Morrison has promised to replace plastic straws with paper straws by June 2018, and Tesco will remove all disposable plastic straws from shelves by the end of 2019.
Tesco has announced that it will replace all plastic straws with "green alternatives."
Plastic straws will also be phased out in all Tesco cafes.
Clare Jones, the initiator of the event, said: "This event took more than a year to complete. I thank you very much - your signature, sharing and social media actions have made everything different."
